Lakeland Fire Department Photo We are operated by a nine person Board of Directors, full time Fire Chief, 2 Deputy Fire Chiefs, 1 Battalion Chief in charge of medical and public education, two Captains & 21 fire fighters, 15 of whom are also medically trained First Responders. We currently have 25 members on the crew. We operate as a Paid on Call service and offer fire protection, extrication services, medical responces, water and ice rescue, search, rescue and recovery, public education, mutual aid, and STARS support. We operate out of 5 strategically placed fire halls.

We are a co-op, and are owned by shareholders, a one time fee of $50 dollars gives you a share and a vote on business-like decisions. We are funded by a levy of $100 that is collected on the taxes and forwarded to the Department by the Municipalities.

We Operate with three Class A Pumpers or Engines, 4 - 2000 gal tankers, 1 light duty Rescue for medical responses and a Fire Chief / command unit, water and Ice rescue unit, one snowmobile and rescue sled. There are five basic life support jump kits with oxygen and AEDs in service, one per hall.

On average the crew responds to 170 - 200 calls for service per year.
